Samsung's 3D LED TV set to hit stores with a colossal bang

Samsung's 3D LED TV set to hit stores with a colossal bang Following the announcement of the mass production of 3D LCD LED TV screens not more than 4 weeks ago, Samsung, in typical "roll the dice" fashion, now has a date set for the arrival of the 3D LCD LED TVs. Along with the new 3D LCD LED TVs, expect a full-scale lineup of features and products that Samsung will use to turn the 3D naysayer into a 3D believer.

When speculation of Samsung developing 3D LCD LED TVs first began, a lack of 3D content was a legitimate concern. Sure, big name production studios had movies like Avatar and Up hitting theaters and the Imax about once a quarter, but there was certainly not the content to support the average consumer splurging on a $4,000 3D TV.

In early March, however, when Samsung expects to have 3D LCD LED TVs on the shelves of big box stores like Sears and online stores like Amazon, Samsung will have the features and the content to change home entertainment.

First, expect a smattering of Samsung Blu-ray players that will be fully compatible with most 3D formats. Samsung already has Blu-ray players on the market, but in order to compliment the highly priced 3D TV, Samsung will need a Blu-ray player that can output 3D content.

Samsung is also gearing up for the March release by partnering with DreamWorks Animation. DreamWorks is planning the DVD release of Monsters vs. Aliens in September, but early adopters of the Samsung 3D LCD LED TV, at least in Europe, will receive a 3D copy of 2009 animated movie.

The partnership will certainly not end there with DreamWorks. In fact, Jeffrey Katzenberg, CEO of DreamWorks Animation, believe that digital 3D is the wave of the future for home entertainment.

According to a Reuters report, Katzenberg believes he will see revenue from the 3D TV home market in 12-18 months. To help achieve that goal, DreamWorks has two 3D movies set to release in 2010: Shrek Forever and How To Train Your Dragon.

Rest assured that Katzenberg will do everything in his power to market not only 3D movies, but also TVs.

Perhaps most important, when it comes to available 3D content, is the real time 3D converter that Samsung plans to include in the 3D LCD LED TV that instantaneously transforms a 2D picture into a 3D picture. Because the selection of 3D TV channels will be limited, the converter will play a key role in offering new content in 3D.

Samsung believes it will be able to add depth and picture quality to standard television. Quite an impressive feature.

Samsung's line of products and features will certainly help jumpstart the 3D market and get consumers interested in the next revolution of TVs. The question is, who will be able to afford it?

Hi,

As you probably know there are already 2D to 3D converters on the market today for around $100.As I understand it is possible to get 3D pictures on a 2D television? Or Am I mistaken?Do you have any experience with the converters?

Great news, indeed! Just  imagine watching horror movie on tv with 3D features and your children around you glued to it at home.  Big theater right in the drawing room.  It is really going to revolutionise home entertainment in the world.  mens messenger bags

But price is not all that matters, quality and name do matter too.  Solacing thing is that there would be good comeptition and more choice for a consumer.juicer reviews

The technology in TV is advancing and advancing while the TV themselves are getting very lighter. I have also seen Samsung's or Sony's very very thin TV...absolutely thin...just seems to have nothing except the lcd screen and a receiver to receive from the media box which can be fitted elsewhere. Anyways, for me 3D technology is still new and would take time to settle down because one person told that it was not a very sound experience for him to see a movie in 3D..his eyes felt quickly tired.
